Les Belles Vagabondes are a company after our own heart. We just love their gorgeous scarves and it’s not just because they’re beautiful, printed in striking natural colours on fine fabrics such as organic cotton, wool and silk. It’s also because the scarves are printed in socially responsible workshops in Kolkata using ASO free inks that are kind to the environment, the makers and the wearers. Traditional Indian techniques are used, too, which produce an excellent rendering.
All that said, it is design that sets Les Belles Vagabondes apart. Francoise, the company owner, is a self-taught designer and her drawings are inspired by her travels in Africa and the Urals. Her influences also come from music and the visual arts.
Les Belles Vagabondes advocates slow fashion and each piece is a testament to the company principles of good design, safe manufacturing processes, craftsmanship and fair trade.
These mini scarves are generously proportioned and have hand rolled hems. They come in a box inspired by vintage match boxes and make a beautiful and unusual gift.
Very gentle hand wash only in cold water.
